Yola Semedo grew up in a family of musicians. Her father was a music teacher. In 1995 she was awarded the UNESCO "Golden Voice of Africa" prize, organized in Bulgaria . She appeared as a representative of Angola at the festival. In her country she has been awarded three times in the years 2000, 2006 and 2007, as the best female voice. In October 2010 she won for the first time in Luanda the title "Top dos mais Queridos" (dt. Top of the Most Popular ). 
Kizomba , Semba and Zouk are their styles of music. In her repertoire, she sings about topics such as love, betrayal and happiness. She is the ambassador of the Chevron for the fight against malaria and HIV in Angola. Her most famous and so far last album she released in 2010 with the title Minha Alma . After becoming the most popular singer in Angola for the last 25 years, she wants to invest more in an international career in the future. For this she travels above all Portugal , Brazil and France .
